Tech. Sgt. Charlie Daube isn’t just a munitions inspector with the Maintenance Squadron with the 167th Airlift Wing, Martinsburg, W.Va.

In addition to munition duties, Daube has a hidden talent for writing novels. In fact, it’s so hidden, his fellow Airmen were unaware of his writing skills.

“I have always had a love of reading and that just turned into a love for writing over the years.” Daube said.

His new book, The Muse, was published September 2018 and is selling on various electronic markets.

His book falls into the romantic suspense genre.

“It has kidnapping, isolation, seclusion, and dark places, but there’s good in the book, too,” Daube said.

Creating a fictional world is a great challenge because it takes so much time, said Daube. He is grateful for the support from his family as both his wife and mother help edit and find plot holes in his novels.

His next book is due out this April. He is planning to participate in the Chocolate Fest and Book Faire in Martinsburg, April 27.
