Wing launches first C-17 Globemaster III local training flight
The front wheels of a C-17 Globemaster III lift off the runway at the 167th Airlift Wing, West Virginia Air National Guard base in Martinsburg, W.Va., Dec. 18. This marked the first launch, a local training sortie, for the wing that is currently in conversion from the C-5 Galaxy to the C-17. The unit received its first C-17 aircraft Sept. 25.
