Colonel William B. Annie is the Deputy Commander of the 167th Airlift Wing, West Virginia Air National Guard, Eastern Regional Airport, Martinsburg, West Virginia a strategic airlift unit flying the C-17A Globemaster III airplane. He assists the Commander in the training and equipment of over 1,100 military members and the execution of world-wide missions in support of National and State Taskings.
Col. Annie entered service as an enlisted Airman October 14,1995, as a Security Policeman. After attaining the rank of staff sergeant in 1999, Col. Annie attend the Academy of Military Science where he was commissioned as a second lieutenant on May 5, 2000. Prior to his present assignment Colonel Annie held command positions as the 167th Force Support Squadron Commander and as the 167th Mission Support Group Commander.
Col. Annie has been mobilized for Operation Noble Eagle in 2001 and deployed in 2009 supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition, he has participated in multiple exercises to include Operation Team Spirit and Operation Foal Eagle South Korea.
