Fixing and fabricating for the C-17's

Dean Parker, a contractor for the 167th Airlift Wing, fabricates plugs designed to keep birds from nesting in C-17 aircraft engines. Parker can make or fix just about anything on the aircraft that is made with fabric including pilot and passenger seats, under-floor insulation blankets and foreign object and debris bags. United Airlines pilots and staff tour Wing

A group of representatives from United Airlines at Dulles International Airport listen as Master Sgt. Robert Duckwall explains the storage system in the aircrew flight equipment section. Fourteen employees from United Airlines, including their chief pilot, visited the 167th Airlift Wing March 29. The Airlift Squadron invited the group to the Wing to gain a better understanding of the Guard mission. They also toured the C-17 flight simulator facility and a C-17 aircraft. 167th Airlift Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Ronald Glazer, Sr., left, presented the quarterly Minuteman Award to the 167th Communications Plans and Implementation section, April 2. Plans and Implementatino inlcudes: Knowledge Management, Cyber Surety and Communications Plans and Projects. The section was recognized for processing over 1.5 million dollars in assets, transitioning the base to a new sharepoint program, having zero write ups during the Unit Effectiveness Inspection and spending over 1,900 hours completing emmissions security, communications security and certifications and accreditation transactions, while also supporting base partners and the Federal Aviation Administration. Wing supports state training program, Ridge Runner

Senior Airman Ryan Springer, an air transportation specialist, tows a pallet of cargo through a hangar at the 167th Airlift Wing, Jan. 31. The wing's small air terminal operations moved 17 pallets of cargo from two of the wing's C-17 Globemaster III aircraft and loaded them on to tractor trailers in support of Ridge Runner, an irregular warfighting training program conducted by the West Virginia National Guard.
